Common phrases used by parents that shape a child's worldview

The words we use as parents shape our children's worldview.

Phrases like "You can do anything you set your mind to" instil confidence and a growth mindset, while "Don't worry, you'll get it next time" teaches resilience and a positive attitude toward failure.

Conversely, saying "You're so smart" can create a fixed mindset, and "Why can't you be more like your sibling?" can damage self-esteem.

Choose words that nurture self-belief, resilience, and authenticity. Encourage effort, validate feelings, and celebrate individuality. Your language is powerful – learn more about this and how to use it to build a strong, confident, and emotionally healthy child in my latest video.
